In and of itself the stay was nice and we felt comfortable. After we had endured the fact that it was freezing cold downstairs (autumn holiday) and we had a repairman come to fix the heating on two evenings, we were all the more surprised when we returned home that we had allegedly messed up the wooden floor of the kitchen with a sticky liquid. When I asked if they had checked the washing machine's drain hose, which was definitely defective (where the lye ran out after every wash cycle, which I even removed from the cupboard myself), I still haven't received an answer.

But blaming us for damage that we didn't cause is fair? Why didn't you inform us directly if that was supposed to have been us? Quite strange. We definitely didn't scratch the floor, the apartment was in perfect condition when we left, I've never experienced anything like yours. Unfortunately, you didn't respond to my email back then. We will not allow ourselves to be accused without justification. There weren't "any defects" either, but rather it was freezing cold on two evenings because the heating wasn't running and we had to let the mechanic in. We understood this and did not reduce the rental price. However, discussing this after such a long time is pointless. For me the case is closed.
