There is a very readable article by Marius Buhl about the Buckhof farmer, Manfred Steiert, in SZ Magazine, number 30, July 2024. Finally a reason to drive from Munich towards Freiburg/Black Forest.

Always a great place to stop when you walk down from Schauinsland to Horben.The cake is homemade and very tasty. And we were served very nicely.When the weather is good, it's nice to sit in the garden.

It was more by chance that we ended up here in the garden of the Buckhof inn after a lovely hike - and we were immediately impressed by how nice it was to sit there and how friendly the service was. This time for me it was "just" a deliciously cold Riegeler Landbier from the typical mug, but the small but delicious menu makes you want more. We'll definitely come back there again if our hunger is greater than our thirst this time.

Simply great. We immediately felt welcome. You could hear the chef “crafting” in the kitchen and the food was simply great. Salad dressing very tasty with vinegar and oil, the rest of the food was also just great. Only recommended

It's always nice to stop by the Buckhof.The innkeeper, the "head waiter", the location, the air, the view.Prices are moderate, dogs are welcome, so are we!Since 2008, we've always been happy to be there, be it with a motorhome in the parking lot or traveling by car, everything was great!

We have enjoyed coming here on a regular basis for many years. A small, honest card in a rustic setting. The food is fresh and homemade, you can taste it. The beer garden in summer is also wonderful!

The beer garden is quite rustic and pleasantly quiet. Food as well as cake and ice cream taste good. Price is okay, but only cash payment possible. Parking is free. You can hike from up there, as well as throughout the surrounding area. Service very friendly and helpful. However, you should bring some time with you. Guest room quite old-fashioned. But a little insider tip.
