Were there for a weekend trip, room standard and narrow, window can only be opened if you don't use the table and put the chairs away. Breakfast was okay, if you ignore what two types of herring salad should be eaten by 50 percent of children and young people. Dinner was a habit. Meatballs in 2 different shapes for the 2 days. 1 time long then round. Weather sunny and warm so it was very pleasant under the trees

My daughter was there with her school class for a few days. The rooms were clean, although very narrow. But functionally furnished. The outdoor area could definitely use a little more care. All the kids were shocked by the dead raccoon on the property. The worst thing for my daughter was the food. She doesn't eat much in terms of quantity, but actually eats almost everything. So it's not extremely demanding. She didn't get enough there. At the same time there was a class with older children who also ate more. There should be enough food for all children. It's a shame, but we won't recommend it.

The youth hostel is located in beautiful nature. It wasn't particularly suitable for our conference because the in-house internet is not designed for around 20 computers to log in at the same time. The food is good - there is a rich buffet for breakfast and dinner. The rooms are good for a youth hostel - but spartan.

The outside area urgently needs maintenance and the playground, well. Accommodation is ok, even if you could only open the window if the table and chairs were taken away, but WiFi is only available in the main building, the breakfast buffet doesn't work at all, rolls, cold cuts, etc. were available but not of the best quality. The coffee was watery with a disgusting aftertaste and the apple juice was very "diluted" and supposedly organic, I estimate 1 part juice to 4 parts water, each spritzer tastes fruitier! Added to this is the great kitchen staff who don't seem to be in the mood and have probably only seen a smile from afar. By the way, the breakfast time on the internet is from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., but it wasn't opened until 8 a.m. by the grim staff. Conclusion: we were there once and that was one too many.

The outdoor area urgently needs care and the playground is in dire need of repair, with lawns cordoned off. Accommodation is ok, even if you can only open the window if the table and chairs have been taken away, WiFi is only available in the main building, the breakfast buffet doesn't work at all, rolls, cold cuts etc. were available but not of the best quality. The coffee was very thin with a disgusting aftertaste, the apple/multivitamin juice was very "diluted" and supposedly organic, 1l part juice to 4l water, every spritzer tastes fruitier! Lunch was good but not enough and for dinner: leftover food from breakfast and lunch. Add to that the kitchen staff who don't seem to want to work and probably go to the basement to laugh. They advertise the lake in front of the hostel, local residents drew our attention, swimming at your own risk. When asked about a simple clothesline to dry your bathing suits and towels, it was too expensive and the money was spent elsewhere. This is not possible with two groups of around 30 children each. Conclusion Unfortunately you can only write if you give at least 1 star, unfortunately this is too much for the money paid.Unique event in this youth hostel

With the exception of one employee, we found the staff to be quite “unfriendly”!Rooms small and unclean.Fittings rusted,a room smelled of cat piss,Cleaning the rooms was almost impossible because the broom was dirtier than the rooms. The facility and the adjacent lake are good, only the cabins need a little renovation.

The youth hostel is in a great location by a lake and is a bit outdated. The rooms are clean but dark, the houses need a bit of renovation. The main house with the dining rooms is new.The food was delicious. The breakfast times from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. are very early, especially if you are traveling alone with several small children.I have never been told in a youth hostel that I have to finish breakfast by 9:00 a.m.Normally, after the end of breakfast time, the clearing up begins slowly, but the guests can then often finish their breakfast comfortably.

Hello, I would like to comment on the last reviews here and a related question.Has there been a new kitchen concept since summer 2023? Because I have to say, we had never seen such a varied and creative cuisine before or since, especially in the morning and evening, in a German youth hostel. But it was summer vacation, so maybe that was why.Yes, you have to like it and maybe even look for it, this original GDR youth hostel charm. Nevertheless, the peace and proximity to the lake definitely justified the overnight price at that time.Otherwise, Saxony-Anhalt's charm ;)Writes Anna from Saxony
