Horrible campsite with terrible service and I would avoid even considering staying there.

This is our third time at the campsite and we would love to come back. Absolutely quiet, close to nature and beautiful. Robert and his wife are very committed and run the place lovingly. The sanitary rooms are super clean!!!!!! Relaxation is possible here across the board.

The couple who run the place are extremely friendly. This is a place for holidaymakers who love peace and quiet and value a well-kept place. The sanitary building is awesome. …

Beautifully located campsite with large pitches. The place is kept very close to nature. You can always find a shady spot through hedges, bushes and trees. The cleanliness in the sanitary building is remarkable. It doesn't get any better. The place is located directly on the Ems. Designated cycle paths pass in the immediate vicinity. There is a pleasant atmosphere and peace at the campsite. The operators are nice and accommodating.

We (2 seniors) have been there for 11 days now. Beautiful and quiet location, large and very well-kept pitches, friendly operators, exceptionally clean and comfortable sanitary rooms, interesting sights in the area (but partly a little further away due to the rural location). Ideal for those who are not looking for entertainment, a pool or a disco, but are looking for a lot of peace and quiet in a very well-kept and clean campsite. And the breakfast sandwiches were delicious too. What bothers me personally is the closing of the barriers at lunchtime. Since the rest of the time is quiet anyway, I think it's unnecessary. But it's my opinion and not important for the rating.

After 10 p.m. you can only whisper. Absolute peace. No children, no playground, no dogs. Only old people here who whisper. Sanitary is very clean

I ended up here while passing through because of the numerous positive reviews. I had a bad feeling when I arrived. First of all I was asked quite abruptly whether I had made a reservation. When I said yes and then it became known that I had dogs with me, it had to be “clarified”.I was told that they don't like having dogs on the pitch. With the van/panel van you stand on the meadow. There is water and electricity at the edge, but things become critical here when it rains.Sanitary building very clean and new. However, you are afraid to breathe because there are signs everywhere about what you shouldn't and are not allowed to do and there is an incredible silence everywhere, including on the square.I have nothing against rules and consideration, but this was really bad.You pay when you leave, but things didn't get any friendlier. It should also be mentioned that the place is very remote, so you should be mobile if you want to buy something else.It gets difficult with the dogs, they shouldn't be allowed to move around the place, but there are no paths around it for walking.

Quiet and super relaxed place. If you want to really relax, this is the right place for you. If you want to cycle and discover a great area, this is also the right place for you. The operating couple is very helpful and super friendly. We'd love to come back.

The Emstal campsite is located just outside Sustrum in the middle of nature on the Ems and near the Dortmund-Ems Canal and is broken up by hedges, bushes and trees and is very well maintained. The pitches are generously sized and have electrical, water and sewage connections. WiFi is available. The place is ideal for individualists who love peace and quiet. Even during the day it is very quiet and you can only hear the chirping of many different birds. The operators are very polite, nice and value peace and quiet. The sanitary facilities are very clean and well maintained and are the best we have found on campsites so far. The disposal station for motorhomes is easy to reach. A kiosk with some food, drinks and bread roll service is available. There are many signposted cycle paths in the area. There is a restaurant with outdoor seating and good food right at the Düther lock, about 1.5 km from the campsite.

We wanted to reserve an overnight stay for a VW bus and a tent. According to staff, tents will not be accepted. Not even for one night close to the VW bus.So you have to assume that people using the Ems cycle path will be turned away - to be honest, in many years of cycling, I've never experienced it so rigorously.
