The Taubensteinhaus is a magical place tucked away in the Bavarian Alps. The view of the Rothwand is breathtaking, the staff is fabulous, and the food is absolutely delicious! Just spent an overnight there with Sophia, Sylvia and Frederick (the staff) and it couldnt have felt more comfy and gemütlich. 😍

We had a great weekend in Taubensteinhaus! We spent 2 nights there. You can reach the Taubensteinhütte by cable car or walk for about 2h. The hike up to the Hütte was very doable. The food was great. We had Linseneintopf, Hirschwürste, Spinatknödel and of course Kaiserschmarrn. The room was very comfortable and clean. The view from the Hütte was fanstastic! The Taubensteinhaus-team was very nice and funny. They suggested us a very beautiful hiking route (Taubensteinhaus - Rauhkopf - Alpspitz - Schönfeldhütte - and back). They were very helpful, if we needed help. They also have many board games, so you won't get bored there, even on bad weather. Wir kommen sehr gern wieder!!!

A mountain top rest offering food and drinks. The food is locally sourced and organic, there are vegan options too. The scenery is gorgeous and on a clear day you can see all the way to the Wendelstein mountain. The staff are super friendly and speak English well.

The beds can’t fit a person who’s taller than 175cm. Also the room was like 35C inside even though the window was completely open and outside was maybe 13C during the night. Filling your water bottle from the tap costs 1€. Breakfast was 13,5€ (bread+yogurt+coffee/juice) and they run out of bread before everyone got one so really not worth the money. I’d expect that 30€ sleeping price to include something, but not even a shower, or a bottle of water. Left the place with the Ryanair feeling. The surrounding views were great despite all the rest.

Excellent food, good drinks and a fantastic view. Was worth the hike up. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. We had the Fleischpflanzerl and the Spinat Knödel with Parmesan. The Knödel was one of the best I've eaten. You can then relax on the benches or lie on the grass after your meal and just stare at a beautiful view till you are ready to leave.Highly recommended.

I've already heard a lot good comments about the Taubensteinhaus and now I have spent myself some time there. I absolutely enjoyed my stay. The host people and the crew were friendly, professional and very anxious. The freshly prepared food was delicious and I enjoyed the wide choice of Schnaps. Everything was just perfect. I will tell my friends to visit this lovely hut and also I will come back again soon.

On a rainy/snowy and foggy Sunday, we saw the flag from the Taubenstaun and could see the place was open. What we experienced? A welcoming, warm, friendly place, with tasty caramelised Kaiserschmarn and cheese knödel soup (only place where I have eaten some so far). Some recommendations of tours and recipes. The whole family works there, with a big smile. It made our day! My dad visiting for the first time was charmed!

The most delicious Kaiserschmarrn! The hut is a perfect stop when skitouring.. beautiful views, so quiet and relaxing, and Kaiserschmarrn was to die for (not that spongy stuff like you get in some places, but perfect texture, caramelized and with raisins). The spinach Knödel looked also tempting. The hut is open also till 22.00 on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday for night skitourers (see the picture with opening times)
