Just spent 4 days here visiting our son who's in digs at uni ...and I thought his digs were bad . ..First room on top floor hadn't been cleaned at all although message said room was ready ....luckily bar was open and bar manager (separate business apparently) very kindly sorted another room out for us which was marginally better .No running cold water in bathroom, hot water tap spun around, basin waste clogged and drained slowly.no wall bracket for shower head, clothes hooks on door both broken, window and blind both filthy, one toilet roll...and toilet made loud rumbling noise every time it was flushed.Main bedroom.,..boiling hot and couldn't control heating or open window more than an inch or two.no curtains just a holy blind,no side/table lights so either main light fully on or off,no chair just bed to sit on,left towels out when we wanted them changed ..they just took and didn't replace so had to raid the store cupboardCould go on.....hotel it certainly isn't.cheap scruffy hostel it certainly is......

This "hotel" is absolutely not fair! It is more like a hostel.I can't list all that was wrong but some highlights are:Cold tap on bathroom sink not working and span aroundShower sprayed across bathroom from poorly fitted hoseBathroom sink blockedBurnt vinyl in shower roomWouldn't use any of the cups etc, dirtyOnly good thing was we were in top floor rooms, not sure how you sleep in rooms above barWe stayed here for 14 hours only and paid 200 for the privilege, feel completely ripped off on student move in weekend

This hotel was the worst place that me and my fiancé had ever stayed. Very worn in most areas and the hygiene level was very poor, to the point I had to go out and buy cleaning products and get on my hands and knees and clean, just to feel like we were not living dirty. The smell of the drainage was something else, the morning the worst may I recall, this needs to be escalated further as this is not right. The car park down stairs only had 3 car spaces, this was not mentioned when we booked via booking.com. The state of the car park was something else, old toilet and tiles just left laying around etc. this has been reported through booking.com but no further action has been made as of yet. Please please avoid at all costs.

I should have read the review of Sept 2023 as I have just experienced the same. A dangerous service entrance to the rooms. Not advised of late outside noisy bar under the hotel. Window lock broken. Dangerous beams above bed. …

Good room with basic amenities such as refrigerator, microwave oven and kettle. A common kitchen is available downstairs. Not a very quiet place due to bar in downstairs, so not good for a person looking for serenity. But this place is located in beautiful Jesmond in an area where supermarkets and restaurants are around and 30mins walk/10-15mins bus/ train to Newcastle city. I liked the place.

The hotel was unclean, the parking is for 4 cars only on a first come first served basis in this tiny garage. This was not displayed on the listing and can trick you into thinking it’s free parking. …

DO NOT USE THIS 'HOTEL'It's an unstaffed hostel The room stank and was uninhabitable. I went down the road (to White's) instead. Richard at New George said they would refund me but still no response and they just don't reply to calls or emails. Should be zero stars.

Where do I start? Only x4 parking spaces for x22 rooms, room was disgusting with hair and dust everywhere on floor/sideboards. Constant smell of raw sewage with drains gurgling, broken toilets outside door on entry. Not fit for humans to stay in, this needs reporting to HSE really before someone gets seriously ill.

After reading the reviews I was not expecting much, we were pleasantly surprised. We arrived in the bar & was shown where to go by the staff. We stayed on the top floor, room was spacious, clean & had a decent en suite. All in all excellent value for location & price paid

This establishment was absolutely filthy. I have stayed in hotels and student accommodation all over the world, but this was one of the worst. It was filthy, there’s no other word for it. …
