Nice old historic pub right in the town centre. Now a Wetherspoons, so cheaper prices on food and drinks, downside usually packed with families at the busy eating times. Still a fairly good place to go, service quick and efficient. Compact pub, hotel rooms also available at good rates.

My wife ordered the Mediterranean salad with cherry tomatoes and haloumi. When it came out, there were no cherry tomatoes and the haloumi was black. The waiter asked if everything was OK. …

From a friendly chat and greeting on arrival throughout our stay, this was a good experience. The room was spacious and comfortable with very little noise even though we overlooked the garden on a warm day. It was excellent value at £58 and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

The nicest Wetherspoons I have ever visited. A nice mix of old and new decor, allowing you to choose your preference. Midweek, afternoon special, Fish and Chips with a pint for just under a tenner. Bargain.

Wasn't happy with the food, says its got 5 start but the food says different. I've come down on holiday from the Isle of Wight and I've never been so disappointed in my life. …

Cleanest place I have ever stayed!! Bravo to the cleaner and I am fussy! Loved my stay here, so clean and lovely mattress, very happy stay. Even the toilets in the pub itself are spotless. The cleaner is the queen of this place!! Would highly recommend.

The app glitched out on me and accidentally ordered two desserts and it charged me twice as well. A waitress with glasses on came over with them and was incredibly rude and refused to give me a refund for the second dessert which I didn’t order. Then refused to give me any sort of box or doggy bag to take the dessert home in.
