The location of the hostel is great! About 30 seconds from the train station, 5 minutes to an m&s food hall, and 2 minutes from the royal mile. Each bed had its own light power socket, and curtains. The staff was super lovely and helpful! I had multiple bookings so was checking in and out, and Louise at the front desk was so sweet and made it super easy. I would definitely stay here again.

Bad experience from start to finish doing our 4 night stay. The dorm smelled of a combination of sewage and a guys football locker room. They said they would do deep cleaning of the room, but smell never went away. The manager blamed us for the smell, even tho one of the receptionist agreed it was bad upon our arrival. We needed to have all the windows open 24/7 just to be able to be in the room.If you are above 185cm tall, you won’t fit on the stone madrases in the bunker beds.Service was rude and not helpful what so ever.Only thing good about this place is the location.Never ever coming again.

The location is awesome. But the beds are clapped out. They sink into the middle and become around 10mm thick. And the rooms are poorly ventilated. Which is very noticeable when 80year old Irish guys reveal their outrageously smelly feet. The kitchen was a bit dingy and the chill out room wasn't very inviting. Most people hung out down stairs near reception. We did enjoy the discounts at Belushi's. We went to go to the cafe adjoining the hostel but we found the painted up goth chick quite rude. Hostel staff were lovely though. Not the worst hostel we have stayed at, but I wouldn't recommend this one as your first option.

Sigh. This just super wasn’t for me. This was my first hostel experience and I was a bit shocked when we saw the rooms. Maybe that’s a reflection more on me than this hostel, but if you’re someone who doesn’t usually do hostels like I am, just splurge for the hotel. My friend and I got 2 beds in a 6-bed female only dorm. The other people in the room were perfectly friendly and it felt very safe. The room was so small though and we had 2 beds in a 3-tier bunk bed. I was honestly expecting 3 sets of 2 bunks, so we were taken aback by the 3 tiered bunks. The beds were not comfortable, and I guess that could be somewhat expected for a hostel. The usb outlet on my bunk also didn’t really work so I wasn’t able to charge my stuff. The bathroom in the room was fine. The shower had good pressure and it was warm, so not too many complaints there. We checked in kinda late so we initially used the shared floor bathroom to not disturb the other people in the room and I was horrified. It smelled so bad and looked haunted. I didn’t care after that and always used the room bathroom. They are also giving RyanAir energy in that they charge for everything. You gotta pay for towels and lockers, which is like ugh but tracks. I was most surprised I had to pay 2 pounds to get another key card though. My friend and I would be splitting up and so both needed our own access card, and they said it’s usually “1 card per booking.”Unimpressed and I personally won’t be booking a hostel experience again unless I’m desperate, but it did the trick for the short time we stayed.

Stayed here for one night, and the problems started immediately. To begin with, someone else was in my bed when I arrived. When I brought this to the attention of the reception staff, they didn’t seem to care and didn’t even offer an apology. The rooms were incredibly loud, and there was no privacy as my curtain only covered half of the bed, I noticed other beds had curtains that covered the entire length and height. The facilities were filthy, and to top it off, the lockers don’t come with locks—you have to pay extra for one. The beds were tiny, and there were no USB-C ports available.Overall, this hostel was a terrible experience, and I regret paying 40€ for one night. I will never stay here again.

Perfect location near the train station. We booked for 1 night. The room was good.More than 5 rooms and only 3 toilet cubicles. They should have at least separate female toilets or changing rooms with mirrors.

I took the private room in the hostel. It was roomy and quiet & so perfectly located in Edinburgh. This hostel (unlike castle rock) lets you have visitors & have a place for you to fill up your water (so basic yet important) & very welcoming staff. It was a bit pricy but I love having a young vibe with activity nights and also have privacy 😀 totally recommend to stay there!

A had a pleasant stay. A super shot-out to Elania and Violeta that made my day easier. If you’re planning to stay in the dorms assure you take a locker with you. A improvement needed: more hangers everywhere in the room and toilets and showers, they are never enough and it costs nothing (makes our life guests a lot easier!)
