This is more a backpackers, not a 'hotel'.The area felt very unsafe down an alleyway with graffiti everywhere. I immediately booked another hotel as soon as I entered the room.I asked the taxi driver that picked me up who has lived in Manchester for a while about the area, and he said it was quite dodgy also. You can hear other guests from your cold room as the door isn't properly sealed. The bed and pillows are so thin and quite uncomfortable. The pictures did not match what I got in real life. The shared shower and toilets were also sub par.I asked for a refund for the unused room but the contact person didn't seem to care or concerned for my terrible experience. They said "You want one response and one only - refund"And"Over 1000 people have reviewed my Hotel and the average score was 7.6 , let’s see if you can undo that .Good day."While it is cheap accommodation, you get what you pay for.I have seem other platforms with significantly lower ratings and I wish I reviewed those sites before booking.

I felt a few of the comments on here were harsh, so here's my review, I'm currently in the hotel. Yes, this is a basic room above a pub with shared bathrooms.  …

Unfortunately we’ve had the worst experience of accommodation in our life here. We were happy to receive our welcome message in the morning but that was the only pleasant thing that happened to us. As soon as we arrived we saw a pub full of people with loud music right below the rooms where we were supposed to stay. There was zero information about it in the description of the accommodation which is against the booking policy. The room was very disappointing, it needed urgently a refurbishment. The window was open, so the first thing we did was looking out and seeing super dirty windowsill. There were no sockets next to the uncomfortable bed. Somehow when booking we didn’t realize that our doble room that cost us 171€ a night had a shared bathroom. It would have been alright if the bathrooms were in the right condition. As it turned out the pub’s bathroom on the ground floor was broken and all of the customers were using the bathroom from the first floor which belonged to the accommodation facilities. In the toilet on the second floor there was an absolutely nasty closet full of dirt and dust. It was like from the horror movies, we were just expecting a monster to come out from there.Of course we were waken up early (7:00) on Sunday morning by the group of drunk people speaking loudly on the street next to the pub because the windows were not soundproof at all. We felt extra disappointed and angry with this stay, especially taking into account that the accommodation has 7.6 rating and positive reviews on Booking. We tried to contact the accommodation with our complaint and hoped for some kind of solution, but we’ve never received a proper reply. The receptionist suggested us contacting their “boss” via WhatsApp… for real?!???This was worst stay ever for the money paid.

This place is pretending to be a Hotel and charging Hotel prices when it is in fact a run down shabby Hostel with dirty shared shower rooms. There are only two shower rooms for 10 rooms which is simply not enough. …

Personally I felt uncomfortable at this accommodation as there was not much security. As there is a bar under the rooms where the toilet for the rooms and for the bar are connected so I felt that anyone really could go upstairs to the rooms. The area itself was a bit of a rough one, there has been men fighting outside. Very loud !! It’s safe to say that I ended up not staying overnight and ended up going elsewhere as I could not imagine feeling safe while sleeping. The rooms weren’t actually too bad.

The hotel with no reception with self-check-in and out. I liked that! The location was near the central city with many closeby restaurants and supermarkets. I met several pleasant people in this hotel. However, the hotel entrance was in a narrow, frightening alleyway. There was no central heating, and the hallways were cold. I had to share the kitchen and the toilet. My room was clean, with a tv and Netflix account. The heating system was loud and made a clear clicking sound which made me think it might cause a problem like short-circuiting or explosion so, I closed it!Also, the noise from the street wakes me up sometimes. The room also had bright light from the heating switch! My advice for everyone who is about to come here is to read the description of any place before you book it!I felt immediate regret when I went to the alleyway. It eased a bit when I reached my room.I met with the working staff, she was a nice person.

The most horrible stay I ever had. Dirty rooms (dirty sheets on the bed, there was a used towel on the bed and empty cans in the bin), the whole building smelled like beer as the toilets of the bar below the hotel shares the entry with the hotel - which is also the reason for the noise during the night. Also, the community-kitchen was pretty dirty and I haven't seen it clean in 2 days. I talked to the responsible about the given circumstances and he wasn't really friendly to me at all. WOULDN'T recommend to anyone, except for someone who likes the smell of beer, a dirty room and loud music during the night.

Don't stay here. Worst "hotel" I have ever been. Very UNSAFE. DON'T TRUST BOOKING REVIEWS. Bad bed and the bedroom doesn't lock! I had to put stuff locking the door. No reception. I felt like I couldn't leave my stuff in the bedroom and leave cus anyone could enter there. NO NETFLIX, payment was delayed. NOT even a PROPER SINK. The window it's impossible to close. IT'S A SCAM.

Essentially a hostel with extra steps but this place is ideal for a cheap tidy and clean room to sleep in for the night in the centre of Manchester. The manager was helpful and courteous and the check-in/out process easier than ever. There is perhaps a lack of security and a few strange features such as no sink in the toilet but in the shower room.
