My wife and I have just left the coachman and let me say first of all what my wife had she was quite happy with, however I asked for steak and sausage pie and what I received was a steak, sausage and vegetable pie which was not what it said on the menu, if the steak pie contains vegetables then the menu should reflect that. When I raised this with the waitress she seemed to find it amusing and suggested we stay away from it, whether she meant the pie or the coachman I'm not sure. To close the point if I buy a steak pie from a reputable butcher it does not have vegetables in it and neither should a steak and sausage pie. I have probably had thousands of steak pies in restaurants and to date but only recently I have had 3 with some sort of vegetables in them this being the third so it seems to be a recent trend obviously so they don't have to put as much steak in it. So I would hope that in future the menu will either reflect that the pie also contains vegetables or the vegetables are removed, that way it is what it says on the tin.

Rooms clean, comfortable and simple. Where this place excels though is the food! Breakfast was really good, super fresh and well cooked. It gave us confidence the restaurant at night would be alright. Thank god we tried it and ate there. The menu was excellent, food was exceptional really and the value was great too. We paid £120 for 4 mains, 4 desserts and drinks which I thought was really fair. The plates were presented like a good quality restaurant and the food was so tasty. The restaurant was packed out despite being in a small town which is always a sign of good food. Atmosphere was great in the bar. All round fantastic. I would go back in a heartbeat. Staff all super friendly too.

This is a hotel, restaurant and bar. The restaurant and bar area is very large but as there is lots of screening which helps cut down noise and provide some degree of privacy.  A nice touch at the bar is it having hooks to hang jackets on. The screening is decorated with plastic foilage/flowers.  There is a fairly large menu and also a Sunday roast menu. There is also a good selection of beers, wines and cocktails. I was with a group of 5 and we were all generally happy with the food.  However, I found my choice of Chicken Balmoral to be a bit bland and the chicken was a bit tough. The desserts were good.  The staff were friendly and service was good. It is popular with young families/birthdays.

Had my wedding at the coachman on the 28th of September. Everything was okay leading up, communication wasn’t the best leading up but we got past that. …

I visited here after my daughter’s graduation for dinner, 3 of us. I had the lasagne, I can honestly say that it was the worst lasagne I have ever had, wasn’t nice tasting and a poor size portion for £15. …

Dined here today (22/09/2024.)Very nice decor inside the restaurant and the food was good and piping hot.My only critique would be that the music volume level could have been reduced slightly as I struggled to hear the people I was sitting with speak.

Wonderful place I was actually shocked to see how beautifully presented this place was. The rooms were spacious and well decorated. The overall cleanliness was great, very clean. The breakfast was also very nice and fulfilling. We booked through booking dot com and got a great deal for this room. There's plenty to do around this area like hiking 🥾 ECT.
