As with previous guests I also decided to stay an additional night. This was simply because of the quality of the service, the standard of the rooms and the attitude offered by Steve. The place is truly exemplary and he has my sincere appreciation for making my stay so great

I’d give this place 10 stars if I could. Steve is the most generous host, the rooms are clean and it’s super spacious and comfortable. We decided to stay here an extra night so we could have a rest day on our bike tour across Wales. We swapped rooms since the original one we had was booked for the second night - but all the rooms are superb! Perfect for everybody, solo adventurers, couples and families.

The accommodation is a beautiful converted school house with comfortable, fully equipped rooms and atmospheric common areas and a shared kitchen. The relaxed and welcoming ambience is inspired by Steve the host whose non-intrusive presence suffuses warmth and is on hand with help and advice as needed and a chat if wanted. The James John Hamilton House offers more than a good service - it's a destination!

Steve is a great guy and it has been a really homey place to be, we ended up staying an extra night because he was such a solid person and it was so lovely to be here. The town is beautiful and feels good, and there are interesting books to read. Really couldn’t ask for a better place to stay.

We took the whole house for two weeks and were joined by family and friends. The house is well equipped, full of character, and has a spacious communal area suitable for a large party. It is conveniently located near shops and pubs and there are beautiful coastal walks in both directions from the house, as well as an adequate bus service along the coast. The host is very welcoming and accommodating. There are guidebooks and local history materials in the house.

It's a nice big house but very dark - it's a converted schoolhouse and most of the glass is frosted. The windows all look out onto dark places too. It wasn't completely clean and was also a bit cold. BUT we had a lovely time - holidays are what you make of them! It's a lovely location and close to lots of other places to visit. Although a little cluttered, the main room is great for big groups of people to just hang out.

The most pleasant experience we've had in a hostel, where we will definitely come back if we get the chance.The room was very comfy and equipped with a private bathroom where we were able to take a nice hot shower after a tiring day. The shared area both looks lovely and is well stocked for a social night. What they don't tell you is that a light breakfast consisting of fruit, cereal, tea and juice is included! This was a most welcome surprise in the morning.What made the difference to our stay was Steve, the owner, who gave us a very good idea of what to expect on our overly-ambitious walk of the coastal path the next day. He checked buses and timetables for us and even gifted us a lovely book written by his dad, a guide, which splits the path into chunks and offers details about what to expect in terms of the land and wildlife. Thanks to the book we recognised a pair of peregrines when we spotted them!Thank you for everything, Steve!

Everything was perfect. Warm welcome and no stress. Lovely rooms and perfect showers. Everything clean and the kitchen was a home full home vibe. Fresh fruit, yogurts, toast, spreads and lovely vibe. Car park across the road literally !!! Steve the owner is just so friendly and loads of help and info about where to eat and go etc. Love it. Thanks Steve.Misha
