Great location for getting in and out of London by train but unless you want to get up, have your "Continental Breakfast" (read: a bowl of cereal) in your room (there was no breakfast room or any other space available to guests) and not come back until the evening (they like to lock up and put an alarm on during the day), having already eaten (take-aways are not allowed in your room and there's nowhere else to eat), then it probably won't suit you either. As for being called "Riverside B&B", it is at the side of a river... but the riverside garden is not available to guests, that's for their private use only. You can also expect parking problems if more than one guest has a car.

I stayed here for a couple of nights last week. I was very well looked after by Ann, and my room was comfortable, quiet and had an en-suite. There was plenty of hot water and also a little fridge to keep milk etc in. …

We booked at the last minute but Anne quickly confirmed our bookings and gave us all the information needed for our stay. Our room was very clean and had a comfortable bed, with a shower room that had plenty of hot water. …

The second time I have stayed at Riverside Guesthouse and as before spotlessly clean and a very comfortable bed! Some nice touches like bottled water and milk in the fridge in the room. Ann is very friendly and welcoming and I would definitely recommend to friends.

Riverside Guesthouse is a welcome retreat, quiet and restful. Ann took excellent care of her American guest. Continental breakfast was fresh every morning and delivered unobtrusively while I was out of the room. Linens were fresh and changed often. I would definitely stay again.

Ann, is so very friendly and welcoming. The double room we stayed in was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this B&B to my friends, everyone who visits this site and my family. Thank you Ann for a wonderful stay :o)

Clean, tidy and the owner was nice. It's conveniently close to the station but be careful to get to your train with plenty of time if you are going towards Stanstead as the train barrier were closed for 3 trains to pass which ment we missed ours. It was a very easy one night stay. Our room was a little small for a long stay.

Top marks for cleanliness, in a lovely house by the river, in a great location for Essex and Herts. Stayed 1 night with a friend before going on a cycling weekend, and there was a safe place for our bikes. The continental breakfast was more than we could eat along with fresh fruit tea, ground coffee and fresh orange juice.

My wife and I were shown every courtesy by the owner and we were made to feel very welcome. We had never been to Essex before and found the Village charming, even the Saturday market. The breakfast was everything a continental should be. If ever in that neck of the woods again will definitely stay there.

Stayed with a work colleague, we booked two rooms, both clean, comfortable and we were looked after excellently. Continental breakfast very good and helpful advice on where to eat within walking distance.
