A very friendly couple who gave us a warm welcome. A quaint & quirky hotel that dates back centuries & still hosts a lot of original features.....our hosts were very knowledgeable about the area & nothing was too much trouble ..... we would go back.

First time in my life I've booked in somewhere and straight back out, first thing that hits you is the all pervading smell of old cooking oil, the next is the damp and must in the accomodation, the dereliction of this place is emmense, its …

Such a wonderful stay this weekend at the cooper kettle. The proprietor was incredible, so welcoming and helpful. We arrived on two motorbikes and we were able to store these in the garage. For reference for any other bikers out there, we managed to just squeeze in a tenere 700 and a crf 300. The building was full of qwerky charm. It is a beautiful old building so the wonky walls and uneven surfaces were expected and adds to the character. Room one was of great size and the shower was great. Excellent location in the centre of town. Superb value for money when you compare to the prices other establishments charge. A wonderful stay and highly recommended especially to the travelling motorbike community. Thank you

Came here for a midweek walking trip, B&B. Accommodation good if old fashioned & quirky, and very good value for money. The owners looked after me very well and were able to sort out any problems promptly.  …

I stayed here for a night on my way down to London from up north. Yes, it's best described as 'quaint' but that's a huge part of the appeal of this place. …

Avoid this place when visiting Kirkby Lonsdale. We stopped here for a coffee. After looking at the menu outside on the window that confirmed that they did infact serve coffee and the price. It said open on the door so we went inside. No one was around but we shouted hello. No one appeared so we knocked on the kitchen door as we could hear the TV on. A small woman who I presume was the owner came out. We asked for 2 coffees. She said she doesn't usually do coffee but however on this occasion she would. We said but it says you do on the menu outside. She said that is when you have a meal with it. The woman went off to the kitchen and said to a man that we want coffee. He said it's not worth the bother and she agreed with him and said the same. So out we went! Faulty Towers springs to mind. Notprofessional and certainly not friendly. Won't be going back there again! Avoid if you want friendly courteous service.
