I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Joivy during my recent stay in Edinburgh. Upon arrival, I found blood on the bedding and on a rag in the apartment, which is completely unacceptable and raises serious hygiene concerns. While the heating and hot water issues were resolved quickly, the overall handling of my complaints left much to be desired.Despite multiple attempts to seek fair compensation, the response from the customer service team was unhelpful and dismissive. I felt like my concerns were not taken seriously, and I would not want anyone else to have their trip tarnished by such poor service.I will not be engaging with Joivy again in the future.

Incredibly disappointing stay here - we arrived late Friday evening (after having to chase them to receive the door key) and upon waking up Saturday morning realised neither the heating or hot water was working. …

Similar to previous reviews - terrible customer service and was left without hot water or heating for the entire weekend, would not recommend.

We booked late, forgetting it was a bank holiday and the last weekend of the Edinbugh Festival (dur!) so everything was super-expensive (most hotels were over £1000 for 3 nights!). …

Lots of issues. The front door is extremely difficult to open. After staff advised me to “use more force," I ended up injuring my fingers (and it's quite challenging to open without hurting yourself). The frustrating thing here is that previous reviews mention this issue - and management doesn’t seem to care. They advised me to try harder, which ended up with me cutting and bruising my fingers. The bathroom door doesn’t close properly. If you value privacy, this apartment isn't for you (also noticed this in a previous review.) The apartment is not clean, with noticeable stains on the walls and carpets. (as pictured.)The window by the bed does not close fully (as pictured) the stairs to the upstairs apartments are right outside where people smoke, not a nice thing to wake up to.Given all these issues, the apartment is overpriced. It’s a shame because the location is great and the apartment has potential. It’s obvious this place is just a cash grab for the owners. The service team has been understanding, but it looks like they can't really do much. The lack of care and maintenance is clear. We’re paying 269 EUR per night (incl. 80€ cleaning fee), and we end up with this disaster. I’d take my chances anywhere else.

The only thing good about this place is the location. The room we rented was insanely dusty, dust on every surface and plant. You have to use an electric key via a link to get into the apartment and the front main door. The link stopped working half way through. I called to ask for the door codes multiple times and was told they couldn’t give them to me. Finally, they gave them to me (not sure why it couldn’t have been in the beginning). The kitchen wasn’t stocked with paper towels etc, and only 1 roll of loo paper. I would have expected there to be more basics. For the money you are paying you might as well stay in a hotel with amenities

Word of warning: We would never have booked this apartment if we had known it had keyless entry that required an internet connection. Traveling on holiday with no data plan, our stay could have been an utter disaster, had we not lucked out with a unit at the front of the building that had WiFi that just barely reached the street.Otherwise, it was a well appointed apartment with a lovely view in a great location.

I’m currently staying here for the last 2 nights. I booked for a business trip. And no hot water since I arrived, can’t even change the heating, room is all the time very cold when I’m in it. I told them to fix the issue and here I go without being able warm up or clean after two days since the heating system doesn’t respond to any of my commands. I travel all the time and this is the first time I have no water shower and at least have a room which is more than 17 degrees.

The decor of these apartments is absolutely gorgeous!!We particularly liked the cupboard kitchen.Unfortunately a star deduction for the poor customer service.Check in only from 3 p.m.If you arrive earlier, your suitcases have to be left somewhere else and when we stood in front of the accommodation at 3 p.m., we were told that the rooms were still not ready. The code to enter was therefore not sent to us and we stood in front of the door for a long time. After several calls we finally got the code and were allowed to enter the apartment.
