Spent a week in mid August with my wife and dog. We had a great time. Location of cottage is great for walks during low tide. Everything about the cottage is quality. The welcome pack is a really nice touch. Book it, you will not regret it.

Wow, My wife booked Ptarmigan Cottage for a weeks stay. what can I say, beautiful setting, lovely well kept Cottage with sky tv Ipad, Wifi, hot tub etc. Defo worth the visit. We found it easy to reach places to visit and great for chilled out night after a long day.

My husband and I came to stay in December 2018 and loved it. We love to travel in the winter as the roads are nice and quiet and we always look for somewhere with a cosy feel. Well we got it and more! We have absolutely fallen in love with this cottage, from the moment we walked in we felt welcomed by the cosy and homely feel. It is completely equipt for baking, cooking, washing, reading - everything. It has the modern necessitys such as music (even in the bathroom) and Sky Tv but still manage to keep the cottage in its style. The views from every window are spectacular, theres even a large standing binocular so you can nosy at the wildlife. With it being in a great location we drove into Portree and did the old man of storr and afterwards came back to the hot tub at the most perfect time! The sun was going down and it made a magical setting. The small touches such as a dram of local whisky, my husband eas delighted as Talisker is his favourite! We enjoyed it by the fire while watching a movie. The big bath tubs are fantastic and the romantic lighting and Drambuie and the local shampoos and soaps which smell amazing are just the icing on the cake! Overall, an amazing romantic break and we'll definitely be back.

Ptarmigan Cottage is amazing. We just spent our honeymoon there and had the best time ever! It has everything you could need and more. Super cosy, incredible view with binoculars for watching the wildlife. On top of all that the host, Gordon, is super friendly and helpful with lots of advice. Can't wait to come back some time. We have never stayed anywhere 5 star before but this totally felt worth the money.

We stayed here recently and it was perfect. The location and views are stunning and so easy to get to. Gordon was a fantastic host and made the whole experience very straightforward which we appreciated.Couldn't think of a better place to stay on Skye, the cottage is comfortable, warm and very clean.We would definitely recommend and are looking to come back soon!

Just returned from a wonderful week at Ptarmigan Cottage. Arrived to a very generous welcome pack and so many added extras and thoughtful touches to make our stay comfortable cosy and very special and stress free. The accommodation has everything you could possibly need and more including a huge bed ....fluffy towels....an abundance of lovely toiletries..... excellent wi-fi.....full sky tv package....if you can drag yourself away from “Skye TV” out the lounge window... your own private beachfront access and stunning beach/sea views whatever the weather....glorious in the sunshine and moody and dramatic on rainy days. (As we were reliably informed by our Talisker distillery tour guide today’s rain is tomorrow’s whiskey!) Hot tub was such a treat and really ramped up the luxury. Private, peaceful, idyllic location to relax and recharge and explore the beautiful island with friendly and helpful owners on hand if you need anything . Would highly recommend to anyone. Can’t wait to come back again soon.

I stayed in Ptarmigan cottage recently and it was perfect! The hosts were so helpful, with excellent pointers on where to visit! The island itself is beauty personified and is on view from your front garden!

Scandalous price, we paid £600 for one night. The best hotels on the island are not more than £250 a night. The view is lovely but the house is next to the main road. Nothing can justify this price, even the jacuzzi or the two baths.Two days after my comment, a lot of new very good comments appeared the same day: one advise, be careful! Unless the price is more reasonable.Scandalously expensive for the service. We paid £600 for one night while the best hotels in the area cost £250 maximum (5 stars). The view is indeed magnificent, but the accommodation is on the side of the main road, not isolated at all. Nothing justifies this price, not even the jacuzzi or the two bathtubs.Two days after my comment, many new very good comments appeared. A word of advice, be careful! Unless the price per night is no longer reasonable.

Wow!Spent a week in luxury in Ptarmigan cottage. Lovely warm welcome from Gordon, who’s local inside knowledge came in handy too. Everything seemed to have been thought of to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible.The cottage has a Stunning location right on the shoreline, and the best view from a hot tub ever! It was the perfect relaxing base for our trip to Skye, thanks for everything.When can we come back!?

Had a very enjoyable 5 night stay here. Accommodation was pristine and luxurious. Hard to imagine a more picturesque setting in the UK, and you can see it all from the window! One of our highlights was sitting out in the garden, watching all the ducks swimming in the water.
