The owner was nice enough. The stairs are very narrow. We were on the top floor. There was no hot water from the sink and the cold water only trickled. I was practically scalded in the shower before it went cold. The bunk bed was shaky and situated under a beam. There was no safety in place for that. Also there was a tissue left from previous guests inbetween a folded duvet on the top bunk.

Guest house ideally situated. 5 min walk to North Beach and Peasholm Park and 10 minute walk into Scarborough town. Plenty of takeaway/cafes. The Albert pub is 3 minutes away for great food. Tired after a day of travel we found we had to phone a number to get someone to come and let us in. Given a key to allow us to get in and out at any time. Guest house ok but small rooms so little room to move around. Bed very comfortable. Shower tray felt like it was about to fall through the floor. Only given enough coffee for two mornings, asked for more but that didn't come so had to buy our own (and toilet rolls). Two towels provided at beginning of week but not changed (bring your own). Pictures are misleading and no breakfast room.

Basic boarding house but this is reflected in the price. Very clean but decor old. No complaints. Lovely staff ideally placed for the cricket or an open air concert. I would use again.

You get what you pay for, not much else to say. Don’t expect much, it’s a cheap price and therefore cheap accommodation. Decently comfy bed, cold, tiny en suit, lots of stairs. Close to north bay (2 min walk). Furniture is old aswell as decoration, everything creaks Lol. Is not the greatest guest house but like I said it reflects the price point.

You get what you pay for, one of cheapest places to stay near the open air theatre. Not the best hotel but it'll do to get head down!

Its a pity you cannot give minus stars...Not great, the name does not fit the place im afraid. The decor is pre 1990 and doesnt look like its been touched since. We booked the family room as we had our 5 yr old with us but upon being shown to the top floor attic room, we walked into a damp smelling, cold, dingy and life less room with a shower/wc that stunk of fish. The carpet was stained in numerous places too which ok if you have kids then you expect some mishaps but they looked old. Not that its be all end all but the bed didnt have a mattress cover - have they never seen the hotel inspector on tv? Infact if they had seen the the inspector i dont think Alex would stay the night either. Maybe we got a bad room but for £75 a night i would expect far far far more. We decided to leave before we even spent an hour there, a waste of money i know but it really wasnt great and i didnt fancy spending a night in the damp smell with my family.

This place was the very worst place we've witnessed. Damp walls and damp personality of hostess. Dreadful and depressing. We were directed into the attic which was meant to be the family room. It was tiny yet had three beds crammed into it including a bunk bed. The bedding did not smell nor was it stained but there were no waterproof mattress covers on any beds. The room was cold and had a en suite that smelt of stale urine. The cream carpet in the attic was covered in faint stains. There was no central heating but a mere plug in radiator. I was determined despite paying £75 online that my toddler would not be staying here and we left straight away without even caring to obtain a refund. Please check this place out before booking online
