This hotel is in a lovely position, situated overlooking the River Thames in Maidenhead. The first time that I stayed there I felt so welcome and safe. The staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble for them. …

On arrival of the hotel, we noticed the restaurant was closed for renovation, only to then find out the entire 1st floor was also under renovation. We stayed in a suite 209/211. The room we stayed in had wallpaper peeling off the walls, carpet was dirty, bathroom had black mould on the tiles all around the shower, and the shower curtain was stained and disgusting A toilet bush was leaning up against the wall with no cover. Renovation work was ongoing until 8.30 pm, which kept my 5 year old away. We were then woken at 6am by people talking above the room. I understand the building was built in the late 1800s, but the siund was as though someone was shouting outside the door.We attempted to use the Tv but the freesat box had no signal and was not a smart unit. The hotel smelt like a mix of building dust and curry. The two members of staff i spoke to were polite, bedding was clean, and the carpark being included in the price are the only positives from this stay over

Stayed here for a full weekend for a family wedding in the area now I’m a person where I don’t care how a room looks long as the rooms are clean .The more you look at things the more you notice how dirty the rooms actually are . Kettle full of limescale and of brown sludge like liquid on the sides . Flies absolutely everywhere , beds practically falling apart and room with broken mirrors .£7 for breakfast you can’t complain if you was getting a cooked breakfast however £7 for some stale cereal, nuke warm tea/coffee and some bread to make simple toast with isn’t on and I don’t know why they think this is reasonable pricing for just that .on the bright side no worries if you forgot your cigarettes cause the room in which they serve food in is filled with smoke so just simply walk in and you’ll get your nicotine hit .Staff are exceptionally rude . The lady in reception charged us twice on checkin ( happened to other family also staying here ) then on check out tried charging us an extra £25 but couldn’t tell us what for . Also if you care about your details don’t stay here as they leave paperwork on the side on reception with your names etc for everyone to see which is a massive breach of data protection laws.I get they’ve had some issues into which they are fixing and doing renovations however the state into which the rest of the hotel has been left is inexcusable. If your advertising a product then that’s the product you should be selling .Only thing going for this place is it’s location . Right on the riverside and the bar staff were lovely .I hope the manger and hotel staff realise that people are paying money to stay here . We don’t deserve to be spoken to like dirt or being scammed out of more money that you can’t even tell your customers what for .

I liked it, generally speaking. Very quiet and nice area. It also has a car park for guests. All just in front of the Thames river. I'd say it is a 3 star rating hotel. Still missing a couple of things but at the same time it is still promising for the future.
