Booked a table for a family meal as they welcome dogs in one part of the restaurant. 4 of us ate 4 different meals + a couple of starters. All were perfectly cooked and served up professionally by the young staff. The atmosphere was welcoming and cosy and the prices very competitive. We plan on returning soon.

Really surprised by this pub, excellent menu, superbly presented, not your usual 'pub grub'.Pretty well-kept sunny garden with plenty of seating. Great for couples, families and even large groups of friends. The large car park to the side makes this an ideal place for a stop at a traditional country pub. Will definitely be back.

Quiet and peaceful place, close to the port of Dover. We have been there 3 times now, always nice to come back. Service for breakfast is super nice. Rooms are simple, but pretty and comfortable. We always love to come back. Even Netflix available

What can I say......stayed at 4 different places in last 10 days and this is exemplary!!!!! Absolutely fantastic from pub to room to breakfast. Staff were so friendly and nothing too much. I hesitated to post this because I want to make sure I can stay next time I'm heading for Dover 🤣

Lovely room for our overnight stay. Had an evening meal of fish and chips which took 40 minutes to arrive and the batter was soggy, chips soft and flabby. Breakfast was lovely but be aware that if you have an early ferry to catch service doesn't start until 9am.

My wife fancied a cold beer in the garden. We stopped in here and wasn't disappointed. The welcome was lovely, the range of drinks was good, although more spiced rum would be appreciated. We sat in the garden which was well maintained and looked after. A lot of work had taken place here to make it a lovely place to sit and enjoy a cold drink. We ordered some food on a second thought. This didn't take a long time, but there was some very weird "salads" that accompanied the mains. These were not needed really.Would recommend and will be back again.

We very much enjoyed our stay and the food at the Lydden Bell. The service was friendly and the food (especially the desserts!) was outstanding. It was very convenient too how close it was to the port of Dover. The room was very comfortable and worked well for our family. The kids especially liked running around in the family garden.

Rooms are great, modern and decorated to a high standard. The pub food is also fantastic with a good mix of traditional and something a bit different. Only downside for us was breakfast which doesn't start until 9:00 and although the cooked selection is good, the continental breakfast table is very poor.

Proper 'Cheffy', beautiful dishes. The guy that runs the kitchen is passionate about serving great food, the right way! Not expensive either. Front of house staff could be a little more attentive, but I think the night that we visited, the young las was mostly working on her own.

Stayed here after a channel crossing. We usually stay at the Premier Inn up the road before a Chanel crossing but are sick of the sticky tables and poor service at the Brewers Fayre. So after a return journey and a long week of labour at our renovation project, we decided to try somewhere new.Staff upon arrival were friendly and informative, telling us everything we needed to know. The room was clean and quiet, despite being located next to the pub.We had a great dinner at the pub that evening, which had a lovely atmosphere and not a sticky table in sight! The food was excellent and the portions were just right. In fact as Northerners we highly recommend the fish and chips, the batter was crispy and really delicious. We were offered a free canapés of a spicy soup which was delicious. The breakfast was hearty and it had plenty of choice. The website does state that it is served from 9am which was fine for us after a long drive through France the previous day, we needed a lie in!So we will no longer subject ourselves to the premier inn, instead opting for this lovely little gem instead!
