It's nicely done up and decorated. But the room was noisy and below street level. It was difficult to find - the welcome instructions could be much better. The bed was comfortable and the price point was reasonable. …

Arrived. Rooms are above a bar. Guy behind the bar didn't realize they were called "The Alma Taverns Boutique Suites". Room size is fine. Was told wifi password was in room. Not the case. Walked down from 3rd floor. Was hand written wifi password. Heater in room 2 does not work. Walked down to ground floor again. Spoke with Ryan who says he is just the "Supervisor" and that he passed the info on to his manager "Toby". Asked for someone to come and fix the heater but was told "perhaps the heater was on a timer". But the heater in the bathroom is working. Room is cold. Avoid this place completely. So far it's been a major disappointment.

This is a fabulous place to stay! The room is huge, very comfortable bed, luxurious towels and a powerful hot shower. The fresh milk, tea / coffee, bottled water and cereal freely available is a really lovely touch. Just be warned it is a long climb up narrow stairs if you have luggage. Don’t worry about noise from the bar / theatre though… we had no disturbance and slept wonderfully. Thank you, we will be back!

The Alma Taverns Boutique Suites was a good choice for our overnight stay in Bristol. It was fairly priced and the room was warm and comfortable. Wi-Fi good. The pub itself was great fun with a good selection of cask beers. There wasn’t much of a food offering (only pizzas on a Monday night) but there’s lots of options within striking distance. They don’t serve breakfast, but there’s a basic ‘help yourself’ offering of cereal, muesli, milk and fresh coffee so it was fine with the addition of some fruit/yogurt of our own.Parking is a bit of a pain if you arrive before 6pm (we parked in Clifton Down shopping centre) but it’s free from 6pm til 9am.

The Alma Boutique Hotel is located in the quieter Clifton district. In the evening you could sleep well even with the windows open. The tavern on the ground floor offers a good place to relax with a drink and we would actually have liked to go to another performance, but we only had little time. The rooms were very spacious and the beds were comfortable. The small kitchen in the hallway with free water and cornflakes 24/7 was really great. I would particularly like to highlight the check-in: We had a flight delay of almost 2 hours on the day of arrival and the bartender waited 1.5 hours for us after his work to hand over the keys. This is very accommodating and not a given. We were very grateful for that!
