We stayed at Wee Grange in September 2024.It's a lovely little semi-detached, two story cottage tucked out of the way in Bathampton. The owners were incredibly helpful and lovely for our entire stay (4 nights), and very responsive considering they were on holiday themselves for part of it.Check-in was very easy with the instructions we were emailed, however I had to ask for them to be resent due to my spam filter (definitely watch for that!).The cottage itself is just perfect for a short getaway. You enter into the little kitchen, which is incredibly functional for its size. You won't feel you're missing anything at all! There's even a washer tucked away which we put to good use.Upstairs is the lounge, where we spent one of our rainy days, which is very cosy and welcoming. Perfect for curling up with a book. Then the bedroom and bathroom follow from there, both were fabulous. It's worth mentioning the place is very well heated, we weren't cold once in 5 days.I will say that Martin's review from a year ago remains faithful, and I'd recommend this little place to anyone who can handle a flight of stairs.Would definitely stay again!

Came across this place purely by accident whilst looking for a place to stay in Bath as I hadn't been there in years.I'd never heard of Bathampton, but now I'm so glad we found this wonderful cottage. The outside picture of plant life growing on the walls and the lovely small courtyard at the back instantly drew my attention. You walk into the kitchen dining area downstairs and immediately feel at home. To be quite honest, we never used it, but it had everything you would need for a comfortable dining experience. The lounge area upstairs had a rather firm but supportive sofa and a comfortable armchair. The area was light and airy, but again, we never used it as we were out all day.The bedroom, however, was another matter. We did utilise this area, and the bed was very, very comfortable and afforded us four nights worth of perfect sleep. The bathroom was clean and bright, but it was essential to close the blind to prevent the house opposite catching sight of one's nethers. The cottage was ideally positioned in Bathampton. OK, there was a lot of traffic noise during the day, but we were out doing what we were there for... sightseeing. The noise abated at night and did increase after 6.30 am, but we did have all the windows open. There are three pub/restaurants very near the place and within easy walking distance. The nearest was The George, which was next to the canal in a beautiful setting, but they had failed to utilise the outside areas, which were quite shabby. The food in the pub was OK, but as a former catering/banqueting manager, I found it unadventurous and dull. The interior was very nice. it was shame the food didn't match the atmosphere and decor. The Bathampton Mill was a bit further on over the canal, the railway, and the motorway. The food here was exceptional and we ate here twice. The setting and service were also unsurpassed by the other pubs on offer.Lastly...The Old Mill...don't go there unless you want to take photos of the waterwheel and the toll Bridge I won't go into this place any further.Harking back to The Wee Grange...it was a really pleasant 35 to 45 minute walk along the canal path to the centre of Bath depending on how much you like to dawdle as there are lots of things to distract you along the way (including what looks like an animal sanctuary with pigs, porcupines and goats). To sum up this cottage was the perfect base for a trip to Bath but we were so glad to find the little gem of a village in Bathampton.Thank you for such a wonderful stay and the marvellous home made marmalade that we were left as a welcoming gift.I implore you to stay at this immaculately kept cottage you won't be disappointed....we weren't.

Just fantastic... Beautiful, cosy, excellently appointed cottage. Situated in a lovely village setting, virtually on the toe path of the Kennet and Avon canal. Hosts were wonderful, very glad we chose to stay here...
