We walked from the main street to the Lodge on a Saturday to have a beer after a walk on the coastal path. At 2.45pm they had called last orders and were closing at 3pm !The passive aggressive comments from the locals made us feel unwelcome.

Great Pub and Hotel serving superb food with an always excellent and ever changing range of real ales. We dined here as a couple and had the rump of lamb and the sea bass. Both were excellent with good portion sizes. …

This place was that good we visited 2 nights on the trot. Good choice of real ales in great condition. The food fantastic, good home cooking but amazing flavours and healthy portions. Wonderful quirky oak embellishments to the interior.||We would definitely go back agai.

Enjoyed a fabulous meal this evening with our friends. Good old fashioned home cooking, massive portions. No fancy presentation, but served on very hot plates which stayed hot throughout the meal. Very very good value, drinks really cheap, Guinness £3.60, Gin £2 a shot.

We ate here last year and made a point of doing so again. We were not disappointed.||The menu seems not to change much but it has allowed the chef to maintain a consistently good standard. …

Upon recommendation of a friend who lives locally, we again enjoyed a holiday meal here.||The wait was worth it too. The menu might not change much but it is comprehensive, offers good choice , including vegetables as well as chips. …
