Lovely pub with great food and friendly, attentive staff. We were staying just a 5 minute drive away and called in every day of the week of our holiday for a drink and twice to eat. The food is freshly prepared and reasonably priced - would definitely recommend if you are in that neck of the woods.

I didn't want to leave! The George Inn is now in my top 3 most favorite places to stay. My room was perfect, the staff were all lovely, and the food (for both breakfast and dinner) was amazing! And since I take my coffee very seriously, I have to mention how delicious my oat milk latte was too! Regarding the location, the town of Wedmore is so charming and peaceful. My stay was pure bliss.

I’m excited to share, quite enthusiastically, to share that the George Wedmore is like a fairytale. The staff are warm, inviting and professional, and made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. I noticed them being the same with every other guest. The staff made you feel like you were family. With my window open I can hear the church bells, the songbirds, and the hushed crow of a far off rooster in the mornings. As the day goes on I hear friendly greetings and chatter of the village residents as they great each other on the street. My bed was incredibly comfortable with clean, crisp sheets, duvet and a warm and soft blanket. The bathtub is so deep and large that I had to buy a bath bomb in Glastonbury just to be able to take a luxurious soak in it.There is beautiful artwork throughout the Inn from a local gallery and the color palette of the walls, furnishings and linens were warm and rich. And the food! I cannot express how delicious the food was! To be able to have a full English breakfast, done vegetarian style, was a treat. I also had the best oat milk latte I’ve had in a long time. There is also ice water and a quaint tea service set up in the hallway by the rooms. The location is a short drive from Wells (Wells Cathedral, old world charm, where they filmed Hot Fuzz), the breathtaking Gorge in Cheddar, and Glastonbury (the Abbey, Glastonbury Music Festival). To Stuart Kerley, his partner Ben and all the staff, thank you for hosting me in my travels and gifting me with memories I will cherish for a lifetime.

We made a mistake on our booking for the wrong night, although they did not have a room available for our preferred date, George offered a full refund. Very kind. Thanks
