This is a wonderful b&b.John made us feel very welcome on arrival and gave us gr8 advice on walks & other activities, including what to do on a particularly wet day.Our room was very comfortable, warm and roomy and the ensuite was modern.There is a good variety of breakfast options each one we tried was very nice.It is a short walk from the train station. There is a gr8 wee pub next dooror you could dander into the town for more dinner optionsWe will definitely be back.

Our only regret is we didn't stay long enough! Beautiful B&B situated in a stunning village. John was a lovely guy who couldn't have been more helpful. Bedroom was perfect, breakfast was delicious and the homemade rhubarb cake really was a treat. We will definitely book again.

The room is really clean and tidy, with a homey ambiance. It's a great place to relax and rest after a hike. The service was great, they are so accomodating. The location is accessible to train station just 5mins and bus station is just in front.

We highly recommend this B&B. It is near Castleton and perfectly situated to explore the stunning Peak District. There are many walks that can start from the house.|The welcome and hospitality we received was above expectation.|The full English Breakfast set us up for the day, and the tea, coffee and cake welcomed us on our return.

This was our 3rd visit with friends and we took all 3 rooms. Once again, it provided a perfect base to explore the area and enjoy some excellent walks.|John is an outstanding host, providing coffee and cake on arrival and a delicious breakfast. Staying at Thorndene B&B was a holidaymakers dream. Nestled in the heart of the Hope Valley, it’s a perfect location for a Peak District adventure.Run by friendly, helpful and accommodating hosts, every day we enjoyed a breakfast of our choosing, with a varied selection of hot and cold options. We regularly enjoyed the complimentary home made cakes in the afternoons. Without fail, John always greeted us with a welcoming smile, giving us invaluable local information and recommendations.The house is beautiful with a lovely front garden and plenty of parking. The room was really clean, comfy bed and linen and the bathroom was modern. A powerful hot shower was a major plus.We would definitely stay here again and would recommend highly to all visitors to the Peak District.
