I found this hotel on Booking.com whilst looking for somewhere to stay near the Peak District for a half term break. We normally stay in Premier Inns but I saw this Ringwood Hall hotel was the same price as the local Premier Inns over half term.It is a good location for getting into the Peak District and for going to Sheffield, lots of choice of local restaurants and other local amenities. The service we have experienced has been friendly. The only let down really has been the room, the bed has been borderline uncomfortable and the room is on the brink of feeling a little unloved/run down. There are spa facilities on site which is available for an extra charge which we did not experience. It has been fine but if the Premier Inn was cheaper I definitely would have preferred to have stayed there.

This place is incredible! We had the most amazing room with a four poster and enormous bath - perfect size for 2. The staff are welcoming and friendly, the grounds- especially in Autumn- are beautiful. The bed was super comfy too. …

When we arrived just as it got dark and after a long 3.5hr journey, most of which was in traffic on the M1, we were given the warmest welcome by the ‘newly promoted’ reception manager Charlotte. …

I went for over night stay last week. Before arrival we told them twice about dietary requirements. I’m a pescatarian and I asked for no meat especially bacon or pork. Upon arrival at reception we was asked again about our dietary requirements and then again at the dinner service. Again I told them no bacon or ham. I ordered a smoked haddock soup and after eating it I noticed pink chunks inside it when I asked the waitress she wasn’t sure what it was and had to check with the chef who confirmed it was bacon. I’ve been sick since then and it ruined the rest of the dinner and stay for us. The food menu needs to state all meats and ingredients in order for this to not happen again. All I received was a sorry. Not good enough for a 4 star hotel. The spa was the only good part as the suite we had had cob webs around the bed frame. Disgusting never again
