Good location, easy to get to Lime Street, 20 minute walk to LJMU campus (depending which campus you’re on). Easy to get to town and Aldi is not that far away. Room is nice and bright with TV included. However, that’s where the positives stop. Majority of my stay was with cold water and whenever I reported a maintenance issue it took weeks to be fixed. Receptionist was never at the desk so if you want to collect a parcel be prepared to wait weeks. There’s no lift as it is a listed building so keep this in mind when choosing what floor to live on as moving in process is a task. I wouldn’t recommend this accommodation for the price, think you can get better for what you pay.

4 stars because I actually liked how pretty the rooms were and there was some lovely privacy. Once you enter the main doors no outsiders can essentially come in. It’s a very quiet area and a great cafes nearby like Kitchen 54.Nice shared kitchen area and great history about the place, it’s around some of the oldest buildings in Liverpool from the 1700s, the oldest being10 Hockenhall Alley which is just a street nearby. If you don’t mind climbing flights of stairs as there is no lift, it’s a nice accommodation. There was a leaky roof that did release a lot of water on the non-main staircase but the main staircase was perfectly fine. Also please make sure you don’t lose your keys here, the security here is tight and you’ll be stuck outside your corridors at times because you won’t have your keys. I’ve heard people sleep on the stairs after a night out because they can’t find their keys and are drunk after a night out.Anyways, I had to wait for around 3 hours for a replacement key. Also you have to make sure you have your phone on you to make sure you pick up that phone call to collect your keys, otherwise even despite being at the entrance of the accom building, they give you at 2 minute window to collect your keys. On the phone, the guy definitely promised to stay at the entrance of the accom for 10 minutes and tried to make me pay £25 for lost keys when the keys were inside my room and I was locked out of my room. I was standing at the entrance of the accom and the ‘keys guy’ was on the other side of the building intentionally using the flooded stairs to make sure to miss me so I won’t be able to collect the keys, he was a little rude when he’s known as the ‘key-man’ but after 3 hours, ya get ya keys…Altogether, there is one nice receptionist, cute rooms, some sweet people around, a decently spacious kitchen and the city centre is an 8 minute walk away from you.

Full of smelly students. Steer well clear unless you want to be infected with Wokeness. Good luck getting your deposit back.

The reason I am leaving one star is due to the company breaching the tenancy agreement in more than one way. Firstly, throughout my stay here, staff walked in and out of the flat without warning despite the tenancy agreement stating they had to give 24 hour notice. Furthermore, nearing the end of the my tenancy, even though a note on my door, written by the accommodation managers, stated that i was still yet to move out; I had two maintenance men walk into my room, without knocking whilst i was unclothed. During my stay we were left without hot water at one point for more than 48 hours and the ceiling at the top of my stairwell leaked every time it rained and left it crumbling which felt very unsafe. At the end of my tenancy I heard nothing about my deposit, not even anything about money deductions and later discovered (after making a phone call with deposit protection scheme 25 working days after moving out) that despite the tenancy agreement stating it would be lodged with DPS, there was no record of it being held at all. This has been a huge disappointment and caused distress.
