Lovely views. The room needs a deep clean. The hotel smells of damp all over. They tried to charge me an extra £89 because they said I had made an amendment! Which I didn't. The receptionist said I'd have to ring the main office. Ok, ring them I said. They didn't ring

Nice friendly welcome. Plenty of parking spaces. Staff helpful about local area and transport. Good clean, comfortable room and bed. About a 20-minute walk to the station for the train to Newcastle, although it was raining pretty heavily, so on return, we got an Uber back from the station to the hotel.

A typical premier inn. The staff are the stars of this one, both the hotel and the pub. Very friendly and extremely helpful, breakfast was excellent with more choice for the continental than any other hotel I've stayed in.

Only problem we encountered was that access to the hotel was restricted due to major roadworks. This involved taking quite a lengthy detour.
