Absolutely charming little camp site, very well thought out little glamping huts and so many little touches you wouldn’t even have thought of but really appreciate. We booked our Shepherds hut as a base to go to a local event but next time we book we’ll be booking purely to stay there and visit the wonderful historic railway next door and the lovely little town on the doorstep

My partner and I booked the Shepherd Hut for a two night stay at the end of August 2022, to celebrate my 26th Birthday. As I am originally from Pickering, we wanted somewhere that was quiet but still close enough to visit my family both in and around Pickering. We loved our stay here, it was a great place to reconnect as a couple and get away from the busy city lives that we both live down in the West Midlands! The owner was easily contactable via text, and was really understanding that we wouldn’t be able to check in on time due to heavy traffic that we experienced on the M5.The Shepherd Hut itself was beautifully decorated and felt like a home away from home… as the nighttime was fairly chilly, we were both worried that it would be cold inside the hut, so we packed extra blankets and hoodies just in case! We didn’t need need them, as once we were in the bed, the hut was lovely and warm! The mattress and bedding was so comfortable, and we didn’t hear any noise from fellow campers. The campsite itself is tucked enough away that it’s quiet, yet a close enough walk away from Pickering marketplace. My partner really enjoyed watching the steam engines coming in and departing from the heritage NYMR station, a stone’s throw away from the Shepherd Hut itself!I can’t exactly tell you how much it cost for a two night stay on the August bank holiday, but it didn’t cost more than £180.Great value for money, and we are both hoping to return again in the future!

A lovely warm welcome from the host, a helpful lady. The shepherds hut is lovely and the site is tucked away a short walk from the town centre. Very warm and cosy through the night. We wish her every success with her business.
