This hotel is magical and staying here was a real highlight during our three week trip to Vietnam. Nothing could be faulted: service, food, facilities, accommodation and the views; literally everything exceeded our expectations. The only downside was that we didn't stay longer! Thank you Avana for such a fabulous experience.

The most amazing place we have ever stayed in. My husband and I enjoyed our honeymoon here and were both blown away by every aspect, the view, the room, the facilities, the yoga, the food, the staff. We have both said this was the nicest place we have ever stayed. This is a beautiful place for a quiet getaway with your loved one, probably not a party place to socialise although I imagine it would be pretty incredible if you went with a group.

Avana retreat is a hidden treasure for those that want to be pampered. We loved our 1 bedroom suite with an attached pool. What stood out was the warmth of the staff, natural views and the farm to table experience. We fully took advantage of the activities that were offered such as, cooking class, massages, private dining and enjoyed each experience.

Clean, accommodating, and relaxing experience! Overall had a great time, although it was a tad hot in Vietnam in June to visit. Staff were very friendly and helpful, although services (eg. massages, food) at the resort were a bit pricy for Vietnam.

My wife and I were on a 16 day trip to Vietnam and she booked three nights at Avana towards the end of our holiday. We have thoroughly enjoyed travelling through Vietnam covering Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hoi An, Mai Chau, Ninh Binh and finally Hanoi. All the places my wife chose, irrespective of the star category, proved to be amazing and the staff were friendly all through our trip. However, my wife and me being hoteliers with more than 50 years of combined experience in five star and boutique category hotel management, were truly impressed by the way Avana functioned. Everything was very well taken care of from start to finish. My wife eats all kinds of food and I am just the opposite. I was living mostly on fruits and beer all through our trip in Vietnam as I am a vegan and that is something most Vietnamese are not accustomed to, not yet. At Avana, the Food and Beverages Manager, Ly, took extra care of my food requirement and provided tasty and spicy vegan food, all three days of our stay there. She was so pleasant and met us during almost all our meals. We will probably go back to Avana, just because of the way Ly took care of my food requirements. My wife did not need any special attention as she was very pleased with all food that they served. The reception staff, especially Quy, Khuong, Nhieu (who checked us in) were very friendly and informative and spoke reasonably good English. The staff at Stilt House, Nhung was super fun to be with. She did not speak any English but managed to communicate with some App based translator. I personally learned a lot about Vietnamese way of life from her. Finally, although we met her only once, we understood that the operations manager, Khuyen was very much in control of everything happening in the property. We even saw her helping the restaurant staff during one of the busy dinners at the main restaurant. Needless to say, the 140 plus staff, many of whom we saw but never met or interacted, played a great role in making sure that Avana is what it is; a very clean, hygienic and top of the line resort. They need to be thanked as well. We did interact with some of the e-cart drivers and they were all super fun. As hoteliers, we understand that anyone with some amount of money can build great properties. However, what makes the property really GREAT are the staff; both management and non-managerial. We found staff at Avana top of the line. We have travelled to many countries, staying in exclusive as well as very basic accommodations and therefore understand how the whole system works. Amazing Resort Avana is the most beautiful and eco friendly resort in the North The decorations and arrangement like you live in the forest with stream around Staff is very friendly, always smile, support 24/7 There are so many activities in resort like knitting, fishing, movie outdoor,… Food is not good for both breakfast and dinner, however, price is not so expensive. I come for birthday without telling in advance but they give a surprise birthday cake.

We just spent 3 nights at Avana Retreat and I have to say, even for a seasoned Hotel lover like me, they catch me by surprise. I would have a hard time finding anything that was not top level. The resort itself, the villas (our group had the two bedroom villa on the picture), food and beverage, trekking, the hidden lagoon, everything was top level, with a big smile. Don't worry too much about the weather, the place is equally fantastic under a storm or in plain sunshine. A complete no brainer......

One of the best resorts I have ever been to ! Huge green spaces , lovely rooms with huge balconies . Staff was amazing and so was the food ! The amenities were excellent . Their app was extremely useful to book buggies and other activities. One can easily spend 2-3 days there

Advantage 1. nature-friendly It will be the best resort for those who want to escape from their daily lives and enjoy a quiet vacation in nature. 2. Service As a five-star resort, all employees provide friendly and high-quality service. The staff understood exactly what the guests wanted, and were able to get all the necessary services during the stay. 3. swimming pool This Infinity Pool, pictures come out well, and the view from the pool is fantastic. It is a swimming pool with the best view in Vietnam. 4. The room As much as it has a price point, I was very satisfied with the resort facilities. It is neatly arranged and all the necessary things can be provided. Bedding was very comfortable. 5. Jeep tour It was a tour that was included in the resort package, and it is the best tour program to tour around the resort by Jeep. The driver took the best photos and provided an unforgettable experience, such as off-road and crossing streams. Highly recommended to guests. Weakness 1. food and drink Since there are no convenience facilities around the resort, all meals must be solved at the resort. The food and beverage provided by the hotel is not enough to say that it is a five-star class. 2. lagoon There was a clear difference from what I saw in the picture. I didn't go there after one visit on the first day because I didn't want to swim much. This part needs improvement. 3. Too far from the city it is quite a good location to feel the nature, but the path to the resort is quite long and tired. it takes almost 4 hours from Hanoi to resort, and there's no restaurant or store near the hotel.

What a wonderful trip we had at Avana. Everything was truly 5 star from the service to the amenities. The property itself is beautiful and it is so awesome how they are employing so many locals and providing English classes to them as well. We did a tour of the villages one day and a jeep tour as well both were so fun! very well run property with great management. We will be back!

Amazing service and care from our seamless check-in to the wonderful stay, memorable experiences, extensive child care, diverse food options, and last but not least, the out-of-this-world scenery. Couldn't ask for more. Having traveled a lot, I'm certain we won't forget Avana Retreat. We would definitely visit a second time 🙏🙏🙏

My husband and I recently stayed two nights at the beautiful Avana Retreat in Vietnam. What a lovely resort with an amazing spa! Ms. Linh was our contact person once we made our reservations and she made sure everything was perfect upon our arrival. After we arrived, Mr. Khuong took us to our lovely room that overlooked the valley and mountains and he facilitated our needs on the property, including a wonderful guide, Mr. Van Vinh, that walked us through the mountains and rice fields with a tour of a local family's home and garden. He taught us so much about the area as well as being fun-loving and energetic! We loved the stilt house museum, complete with a husband and wife team that were actually weaving and making fans underneath the stilt house. What a treasure to meet them and see their beautiful artistry! The spa really is one of the best we have ever experienced! The drive from Hanoi was so interesting, passing through village after village and then through the mountains to get to Avana. We learned that every staff member is a local. We want to thank them for their smiles and genuine desire to make our stay perfect!

This resort is very remotely located in the Mai Chau hills. The road journey from Hanoi is an experience in itself with mad overtaking on bends. The setting when you arrive, however, is idyllic. This resort is very luxurious but is priced accordingly. Definitely a 5 star experience. The resort is efficiently run with in room IPads and phone apps allowing you to request buggies to collect you and drop you anywhere in the resort. While we were there, my husband became sick and I must commend the Operations Manager Ms Pham Thi Khuyen who came to our assistance immediately. She called the resident nurse and followed up with us the next day. Our one observation where we feel the resort needs to improve is the meet and greet. The staff greeting new guests lack confidence and the information given on the resort facilities is not clear, which I suspect is due to language issues. That aside, this is an excellent resort in beautiful rural Vietnam.

Beautiful place with an wonderful hotel. We had a fabulous stay at Avana Retreat. All staff were so kind and friendly, but a special mention to the lady manager, always present and taking action when is needed. The villas were beautiful and the pool as well, although it could be crowded easily on the afternoon. They gave us free snacks at the pool and at the happy hour, which is perfect to enjoy the beautiful sunset. It was my husbands birthday and they prepared us a special dinner by the waterfalls. The settings were amazing and the food delicious. The Chef were inspired! We had a great massage at the spa, which was a good idea after a cycling tour on the rice fields. We were very well received in this hidden gem hotel. Thank you so much.
