Best Barbecue Chicken
Ingredients Required
-
1 ½ tablespoons olive oil
-
¼ cup diced onion
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
5 tablespoons ketchup
-
3 tablespoons honey
-
3 tablespoons brown sugar
-
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
-
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
-
salt and pepper to taste
-
2 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
Cooking Instructions
-
Preheat your outdoor grill to medium-high heat and brush the grill grate with a bit of oil.
-
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, cooking until soft, about 2 minutes. Stir in the ketchup, honey, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper, and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat and let cool for a few moments.
-
Coat the chicken in the sauce, making sure both sides are covered. Reserve any leftover sauce in the skillet. Place the chicken on the preheated grill, turning once, and cook until golden and crisp, about 10 to 15 minutes.
-
Return the chicken to the skillet with the remaining sauce. Simmer over medium heat for about 5 minutes per side, or until the sauce has become sticky and the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) when checked with a thermometer.
