Creamy Butter Lamb Curry

Ingredients List

2 pounds boneless lamb shoulder, cut into 1 inch pieces

½ teaspoon garam masala

salt to taste

2 tablespoons butter, divided

1 onion, chopped

½ teaspoon ground turmeric (Optional)

½ teaspoon minced ginger

½ teaspoon minced garlic

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste

1 tablespoon tomato paste
-
1 cup water
-
½ cup heavy cream
-
1 tablespoon honey
-
1 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Cooking Instructions

Season the lamb with garam masala and salt. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown the lamb cubes in batches, stirring constantly. Remove the lamb and set aside.

In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter over medium heat. Add the onions and sauté until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add turmeric, ginger, and garlic. Stir and cook for 1 minute. Mix in cayenne and tomato paste, then add water. Bring to a simmer, and return the lamb to the skillet. Simmer on low for about 20 minutes, until the lamb is tender.

Stir in the cream and honey. Serve the dish in a serving bowl and garnish with cilantro.
