Crispy Breaded Brussels Sprouts

1 ½ pounds Brussels sprouts

1 teaspoon salt

4 tablespoons butter, melted

4 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

4 tablespoons dried bread crumbs

¼ teaspoon garlic powder

¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

¼ teaspoon seasoning salt
Cooking Instructions

Wash and trim the Brussels sprouts, then cut a shallow "X" about 1/8 inch deep at the base of each sprout to ensure even cooking.

In a medium pot, add Brussels sprouts and enough water to cover them. Stir in 1 teaspoon of salt and bring to a boil. Once boiling, cover and simmer for 6 minutes or until the sprouts are tender; then drain carefully to avoid overcooking.

Transfer the sprouts to a small baking dish. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of melted butter over the sprouts and toss to coat evenly.

In a separate bowl, mix Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, black pepper, seasoning salt, and the remaining butter. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the Brussels sprouts.

Place the dish under the broiler, about 4 inches from the heat source, and broil for 5 minutes or until the topping turns golden brown. Serve immediately.
