Grilled Flank Steak with Barbecue Marinade

¾ cup vegetable oil

¼ cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar

3 tablespoons honey

1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder

1 ½ teaspoons ground ginger

1 green onion, thinly sliced

1 (1 1/2-pound) flank steak
Instructions

Whisk together vegetable oil, soy sauce, vinegar, honey, garlic powder, ginger, and green onions in a bowl. Pour into a resealable plastic bag, then add the flank steak. Seal the bag and toss to coat the steak. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours to marinate.

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.

Remove the steak from the marinade, shaking off any excess. Pour the marinade into a small saucepan and set aside.

Grill the steak for about 5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare. Remove from the grill and cover with aluminum foil. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.

While the steak rests, bring the marinade to a boil in the saucepan over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Drizzle the heated marinade over the sliced steak when serving.
