Grilled Mushroom Swiss Burgers
Ingredients List
-
1 ½ pounds lean ground beef
-
½ teaspoon seasoned meat tenderizer
-
salt and pepper to taste
-
2 teaspoons butter
-
2 (4 ounce) cans sliced mushrooms, drained
-
2 tablespoons soy sauce
-
4 slices Swiss cheese
-
6 hamburger buns
Instructions
-
Preheat your outdoor grill to medium heat and lightly grease the grate.
-
Shape the ground beef into 6 equal patties, then season with meat tenderizer, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
-
In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add mushrooms and soy sauce, and cook, stirring occasionally, until mushrooms are browned. Remove from heat and keep warm.
-
Place the patties on the preheated grill and cook for about 6 minutes per side, until fully cooked. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches at least 160°F (70°C).
-
Top each patty with the mushroom mixture and a slice of Swiss cheese. Cover the grill for about 1 minute, until the cheese is melted. Remove the patties from the grill and serve on hamburger buns.
