Grilled Rib-Eye Steaks with a Soy-Ginger Marinade

Ingredients List
-
½ cup soy sauce
-
¼ cup real maple syrup
-
6 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
-
1 teaspoon mustard powder
-
½ teaspoon sesame oil
-
¼ teaspoon hot pepper sauce
-
½ cup beer
-
4 (10 ounce) beef rib-eye steaks
Cooking Instructions
-
In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, maple syrup, minced garlic, fresh ginger, mustard powder, sesame oil, and hot sauce. Once well mixed, add the beer and stir gently to combine.
-
Prepare the steaks by scoring the fatty edges with a knife (this helps prevent curling during grilling). Place the steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Use a fork to prick the steaks, allowing the marinade to soak in. Flip the steaks and repeat the process on the other side.
-
Cover with plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate the steaks to marinate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight.
-
Preheat the grill to high heat. Place the steaks on the grill and sear for about 15 seconds on one side. Flip the steaks and cook for 5 minutes, then flip again and cook for another 5 minutes for medium-rare, depending on steak thickness. Check doneness by slicing into the center of the steak.
