Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, water, and vegetable oil in a small bowl, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Place the fish in a large resealable bag, add the soy sauce mixture, seal the bag, and turn to coat the fish. Refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours.

Preheat your grill to medium heat and lightly grease the grate with oil.

Place the salmon on the preheated grill and discard the marinade. Grill the salmon until it easily flakes with a fork, about 6 to 8 minutes per side.
