Grilled Southern-Style Sweet Pork Chops

Ingredients Needed
-
½ cup barbeque sauce
-
¼ cup apple butter
-
2 tablespoons brown sugar
-
1 tablespoon ground black pepper
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
3 (4 ounce) pork chops
Instructions
-
In a microwave-safe bowl, whisk together barbeque sauce, apple butter, brown sugar, black pepper, and garlic. Heat the mixture in the microwave for about 30 seconds, or until the sugar dissolves. Stir until smooth.
-
Place the pork chops on a plate and pour the marinade over them. Refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours to allow the flavors to fully infuse the meat.
-
Preheat your outdoor grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
-
Grill the pork chops for about 15 minutes, or until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C), as measured with an instant-read thermometer.
Chef's Tip:
For an extra boost of flavor, I prefer using apple butter that’s made with maple syrup. Feel free to tweak the seasonings to suit your taste.
Letting the pork chops marinate in the sauce before grilling is optional, but it can enhance the flavor.
