Grilled Tofu Sandwiches with Barbecue Glaze

1 (12 ounce) package extra firm tofu

3 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 onion, thinly sliced

1 ½ cups barbecue sauce

6 hamburger buns
Instructions

Press the tofu between layers of paper towels to remove excess water.

Cut the tofu into 1/4 inch thick slices.

Heat vegetable oil in a skillet and fry the tofu until crispy and golden on both sides. Add the sliced onion and cook until softened to your preference.

Stir in your favorite barbecue sauce (adjust the amount to your liking) and let it simmer for 10 minutes on low heat. Serve the mixture on toasted buns.
