Halushki Dish
Ingredients List
-
1 1/2 pounds pork chops
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste
-
salt and pepper to taste
-
1 onion, chopped
-
1/4 cup water, or as needed
-
1 large head cabbage, cut into squares
-
1 pound large egg noodles
-
1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
-
Season pork chops with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Heat a large skillet or deep pan over medium-high heat and add some oil. Cook the pork chops and onion in the pan until browned and thoroughly cooked, allowing a bit of sticking for extra flavor. Transfer the pork chops to a plate and set them aside.
-
Pour 1/4 cup of water into the pan, scraping up the caramelized bits from the bottom using a wooden spoon. Add the cabbage and let it cook down, stirring occasionally until tender.
-
Meanwhile, bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook the egg noodles in the boiling water for 7 to 9 minutes, or until al dente. Drain the noodles and toss them with butter.
-
Cut the pork chops into bite-sized pieces. Once the cabbage is softened, add the pork and noodles, stirring everything together until well combined.
