Healthier Brown Sugar Meatloaf Recipe
Ingredients Needed

3 tablespoons packed brown sugar

½ cup ketchup

1 ½ pounds lean ground beef

1 small onion, chopped

¾ cup low-fat (1%) milk

¾ cup whole wheat bread crumbs

2 large eggs

¼ cup chopped parsley

1 ½ teaspoons salt

¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

¼ teaspoon ground ginger
Cooking Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly coat a 9x5-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.

Sprinkle brown sugar evenly across the bottom of the loaf pan, then top with a layer of ketchup.

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, milk, breadcrumbs, eggs, parsley, salt, pepper, and ginger. Mix thoroughly and shape into a loaf. Place the meatloaf on top of the ketchup in the pan.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour or until the meat is fully cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
