How Long Can Brewed Tea Stay Fresh?
Brewed tea can last up to eight hours at room temperature. However, for optimal freshness, we recommend storing it in the fridge, where it will stay best for up to 48 hours. The best way to preserve brewed tea is in an airtight container, such as a glass or ceramic pitcher with a tight-fitting lid.
If you add fruits or sugars to your tea, its shelf life remains the same. Also, once brewed, there’s no need to reheat it.
Is It Safe to Drink Tea After It’s Expired?
Drinking brewed tea past its expiration isn’t harmful, but after two days, it may lose its flavor and health benefits. It also might not taste as fresh. If you tend to make large batches of tea, try to consume them within two days for the best taste and quality.
