Jennifer Garner Loves to Bake Our Most Popular Pumpkin Bread Recipe

Jennifer Garner first tried her 'favorite' pumpkin bread recipe during a 2020 episode of her 'Pretend Cooking Show.' Up at the crack of dawn (5:37 a.m.!), she whipped up the bread for what we can only imagine was a house full of equally cheerful friends and family. With her Instagram followers watching, she measured, mixed, and adjusted her ingredients to create a perfectly fluffy loaf of our highly rated Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread. She even did some math—scaling down the recipe from three loaves to just one—and kindly shared her calculations so you can do the same.
Despite a little hiccup with the loaf pan (it happens to the best of us, Jennifer), the pumpkin bread turned out absolutely flawless. Pro tip: just add a little extra grease to the pan and let the bread rest a bit before flipping it onto the cooling rack.
Amid all the math talk, Jennifer mentioned that she loves this recipe because it's 'indestructible.' Clearly, her affection for it has stood the test of time—she made our pumpkin bread once more on another episode of 'Pretend Cooking Show.' This time, she baked three perfect loaves for early holiday gifting, using the 'toddler-proof' version of the recipe.
When Jennifer first made our pumpkin bread recipe, she had eight million Instagram followers, but today her audience has grown to an impressive 16.9 million. Much like Jennifer, our pumpkin bread has gained popularity over the years. In 2020, over 7,000 Dinogo users had rated the recipe, but now it has over 10,000 reviews, holding a near-perfect 4.8-star rating.

Jennifer Garner's Favorite Pumpkin Bread Recipe from Dinogo
The original Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread recipe yields three 3x7-inch loaves. In 2020, Jennifer shared her adjusted version on Instagram, downsizing it to one loaf.
This time around, she stuck with the original recipe, swapping out canned pumpkin for a small sugar pumpkin that she bakes and purées herself.

- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/8 teaspoon ginger
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine pumpkin purée, eggs, oil, water, and sugar, stirring until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
