Korean BBQ Grilled Galbi Ribs

5 pounds beef short ribs, cut flanken style

1 Asian pear, cored and cubed

1 onion, coarsely chopped

5 cloves garlic

1 cup soy sauce (such as Kikkoman®)

1 cup brown sugar

¼ cup honey

¼ cup sesame oil

black pepper to taste
Instructions
Submerge the ribs in a large pot of cold water, then refrigerate for 1 hour to draw out excess blood. Drain the water afterward.

Blend the Asian pear, onion, and garlic until smooth. Transfer the mixture to a large bowl and stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, sesame oil, and black pepper. Add the ribs to the marinade and toss to coat evenly. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 8 hours to overnight.

Remove the ribs from the marinade and place them on the hot grill. Cook for 5 to 10 minutes per side, until the meat is tender and has a crispy, charred exterior. Discard the marinade.
