Parmesan-Crusted Brussels Sprouts
Ingredients List
-
1 tablespoon butter
-
2 cloves garlic, chopped
-
1 tablespoon butter
-
6 Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
-
1 tablespoon butter
-
2 tablespoons shredded Parmesan cheese, or more to taste
-
salt and ground black pepper to taste
Cooking Instructions
Heat a skillet over medium heat for about 3 minutes. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and sauté the garlic until aromatic, around 30 seconds. Toss in another tablespoon of butter and Brussels sprouts, placing them cut-side down. Cover and cook until the sprouts turn golden brown, approximately 4 to 6 minutes.
Flip the Brussels sprouts, add another tablespoon of butter. Cover and cook until the opposite side is golden and crispy, about 3 more minutes. Transfer to a plate and top with freshly grated Parmesan, salt, and black pepper.
Chef’s Tip
For an added crunch, remove a few of the outer leaves from the Brussels sprouts as you wash them (I typically discard two or three leaves per sprout). Toss the leaves back into the pan during cooking to enhance the texture.
