Pepper-Crusted Flat Iron Steak with Balsamic Glaze

Ingredients List
-
3 pounds flat iron steak
-
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
-
2 tablespoons coarsely ground mixed peppercorns
-
1 ½ teaspoons salt
-
1 tablespoon butter
-
1 clove garlic, minced
-
1 cup balsamic vinegar
-
¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
Cooking Instructions
-
Brush the steak with olive oil, then coat it in freshly ground peppercorns and season with salt. Set aside. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the flat iron steaks and cook to your preferred doneness, about 4 minutes per side for medium-rare.
-
Once the steaks are cooked, transfer them to a plate and keep warm. Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook over medium heat until golden brown, about 1 minute. Stir in balsamic vinegar, increase the heat to medium-high, and simmer until the vinegar has reduced by half.
-
Slice the steak thinly across the grain and arrange on a serving platter. Drizzle the balsamic reduction over the steak and garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
