Pork Chops with Apples

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

½ cup chopped onion

4 (1/2-inch thick) pork chops

½ teaspoon salt

ground black pepper to taste

2 apples - peeled, cored and sliced

¾ cup hot water

2 tablespoons brown sugar

½ teaspoon ground mustard
-
⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Heat some oil in a large skillet. Sauté the onions for about 1 minute until soft, then remove and set aside. Brown the pork chops on both sides.

Arrange the pork chops in a 8x12-inch baking dish. Season with salt and pepper, then top with apples and sautéed onions.

In a small bowl, mix together water, brown sugar, mustard, and cloves. Pour the mixture over the pork chops.

Cover and bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 45 minutes.
