Pork Chops with Applesauce

1 apple - peeled, cored, and sliced

2 (1/2-inch thick) pork chops

½ teaspoon salt

¾ cup applesauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

½ teaspoon ground mustard

⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Cooking Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add apple and onion, cooking until softened, about 5 minutes. Transfer this mixture to a bowl.

In the same skillet, brown the pork chops on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. Once browned, place them in a 9x9-inch baking dish and season with salt and pepper.

In the bowl with the apple and onion, mix in applesauce, brown sugar, mustard, and cinnamon. Spoon this mixture over the pork chops.

Cover the dish and bake in the preheated oven until the pork chops are fully cooked, about 30 to 45 minutes. An instant-read thermometer should read at least 145°F (63°C) in the center of the pork.
