Quick and Easy Beef Stroganoff

1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup

½ cup water, or more as needed

1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix

1 pound cubed beef stew meat

4 ounces cream cheese
Instructions

In a slow cooker, combine cream of mushroom soup, water, and the dry onion soup mix. Add the beef to the mixture, stirring to coat. Cover and cook on High for 1 hour. Then reduce to Low and cook for an additional 2 to 3 hours, or until the beef becomes tender. Check doneness after 2 hours. Once ready, stir in cream cheese until smooth and well-combined.
