Sage-Apple Pork Chops

Ingredients List
-
2 tablespoons flour
-
1 ½ teaspoons dried sage
-
1 teaspoon minced garlic
-
1 teaspoon ground thyme
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
½ teaspoon ground allspice
-
½ teaspoon paprika
-
4 boneless pork chops
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
1 onion, thinly sliced
-
2 red apples, thinly sliced
-
½ cup apple juice
-
1 tablespoon brown sugar
Instructions
-
In a bowl, combine flour, sage, garlic, thyme, salt, allspice, and paprika. Dust both sides of each pork chop with about 1 tablespoon of the flour mixture.
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the pork chops for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, then transfer them to a plate.
-
In the same skillet, sauté the onions in the remaining oil and drippings for 3 minutes until tender. Add apple slices and cook for another 2 minutes. Pour apple juice over the mixture, stir in brown sugar and the remaining flour mixture, and allow it to dissolve.
-
Return the pork chops to the skillet. Bring the sauce to a boil, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the pork is fully cooked. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
