Salmon Baked in Parchment Paper
Required Ingredients
-
1 (8 ounce) salmon fillet
-
salt and ground black pepper to taste
-
¼ cup chopped basil leaves
-
olive oil cooking spray
-
1 lemon, thinly sliced
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and move the rack to the lowest setting.
-
Place the salmon fillet, skin-side down, in the center of a large piece of parchment paper. Season generously with salt and black pepper. Cut two 3-inch slits in the fillet and stuff with freshly chopped basil leaves. Lightly coat with cooking spray and top with lemon slices.
-
Fold the parchment paper over the salmon, sealing the edges tightly to form an airtight packet. Place the packet on a baking sheet.
-
Bake for approximately 25 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and the flesh turns opaque with a hint of pink in the center. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 145°F (65°C). Cut open the parchment and remove the lemon slices before serving.
