Ingredients Needed
-
3 cups water
-
½ cup butter, cut into pieces
-
2 (6 ounce) packages cornbread stuffing mix
-
1 pound ground pork sausage
-
4 stalks celery, chopped
-
1 medium onion, chopped
-
2 tablespoons butter, melted
-
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
-
1 (14.5 ounce) can chicken broth, or as needed
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
In a medium saucepan, bring water and 1/2 cup of butter to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in the stuffing mix. Cover and let it sit for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork.
-
While the stuffing is resting, cook the sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat until browned and crumbled, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain the excess fat.
-
Combine the stuffing mix and sausage in a large bowl. Add the chopped celery, onion, melted butter, and poultry seasoning. Gradually stir in chicken broth to your desired consistency. Transfer the mixture to a medium-sized baking dish.
-
Cover and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30 minutes, or until lightly browned on top.
